Founded in 1952 by Polish immigrant and Holocaust survivor William Ungar, National Envelope has grown to become the largest envelope manufacturer in the world. With over 20 locations from coast to coast, National Envelope has been manufacturing a broad range of envelopes for a diverse clientele for over 50 years. A Forbes 500 company, National Envelope produces over 200 million envelopes every day.
The Opportunity
As a customer-centric organization, National Envelope provides quotes, acknowledgements and other up-to-date information to customers in virtually any format requested, including traditional mail, email, EDI, XML and fax. When customers request faxes, manual processing is not an option due to its volume and inefficiency.
The company relies on IBM’s System i computing platform, and sought a solution that could be integrated with its existing ERP and electronic form applications.
The Solution
Biscom’s FAXCOM for iSeries solution meets the company’s needs.
“Biscom’s seamless integration with our System i applications was very appealing to us,” said Scott Steinacher, Data Architect for National Envelope. “The product works with everything we run, and that’s critical.”
A particularly important feature is Biscom’s support for electronic forms. “Our documents are PostScript-based because that gives us the most flexibility,” said Mr. Steinacher. “FAXCOM supports PostScript files and lets us fax professional, concise documents that maintain our corporate image.”
The Results
Customer satisfaction.
“Biscom provides the functionality we need to make faxing effective and economical,” said Mr. Steinacher. The FAXCOM solution provides critical real-time visibility into the status of our fax traffic. We can see how faxes are doing - when they were sent, when they were received, and so forth,” adds Mr. Steinacher.
“We continually strive to meet our customer’s needs, and Biscom helps us do that.”
