RentGrow, Inc. is a national information technology and service provider for the multi-housing industry. Specifically, RentGrow provides apartment communities with applicant-screening services including: report cards, criminal and eviction background checks, and management reporting. The vast majority of their businesses is conducted one of two ways; via the Internet, or by fax, which is where Biscom's fax server and it's web client API have been instrumental.

Initially, RentGrow's fax business was handled via a number of internally developed network fax servers, which lacked the reliability and tracking features of FAXCOM's product line.

RentGrow purchased a Biscom FAXCOM fax server in order to facilitate the handling of the company's accounts and make the processing department more efficient. The FAXCOM server was implemented to process all the outbound faxing for the completed customer requests for credit reports on applicants. The improved system works as follows:

When a customer faxes in a service request to RentGrow, the applicants information is entered into RentGrow's Totalscreen(SM) system (RentGrow's name for their Internet product). This system chooses the appropriate credit bureau based on the consumer's preference and zip code of the applicant, generates requests for additional services, and accesses the company's internal databases to retrieve consumer profile information such as the customer's fax number. After all the credit information is collected, the Totalscreen system then evaluates and scores the credit report based on the customer's criteria for approval. Then, a RentGrow representative reviews the report for any issues and accuracy, and at this point the FAXCOM system comes into play.

The final credit report is sent via the networked FAXCOM server, which automatically routes the file by accessing the DID numbers from RentGrow's internal customer databases. FAXCOM attaches a cover page the the file that contains property name and account number, as well as timely pertinent information about ongoing marketing programs that RentGrow wishes to inform their clients about. The FAXCOM server accomplishes this by interfacing with two data repositories to acquire specific customer information, and then interfaces with the central customer database to confirm the accuracy of the data before transmission.

Other benefits realized by RentGrow due to the implementation of their FAXCOM system include: the creation of a pending log that captures the delivery time when a customer inquiry is received for tracking purposes, the ability to dynamically change the cover page transmitted provides for dissemination of relevant information in a timely manner, and reconciliation of daily fax activity is automated be the creation of a send fax log for record keeping.
