Law Firm
One of the largest law firms in the United States with more than 500 attorneys and nearly 50 offices in major metropolitan areas.
The Challenge
The firm’s challenge primarily focused on ensuring privacy protection of confidential client information. Multiple offices in many different cities also presented a logistical
problem, how to rollout a new solution across the enterprise.
The firm works closely with clients who handle such confidential employment information
as social security numbers, birth certificates
and immigration forms. With recent increases in incidences of identity theft in the news, they required an electronic method of sending and receiving these documents. A solution that was better, faster, and more secure
than courier-delivered hard copies.
Because the firm has so many offices across the United States, their challenge was even greater than most. They needed a solution they could deploy quickly and easily to all staff, not one that needed to be individually installed on each computer. Since their attorneys
are across the country, the solution also needed to be self-explanatory. Multiple
offices in many cities meant that there couldn’t be a training room session on how to use the new tool.
The firm investigated multiple Secure Delivery
products, and their research and testing led to the conclusion that Biscom Delivery Server (BDS) was the easiest-to-use best product available.
The Solution
BDS is a clientless, Web-based secure file transfer solution that enables enterprise-class secure file transfer. Data transfer is secure, authenticated, and delivered directly from point-to-point. Integrated tracking and reporting capabilities provide a comprehensive
audit trail.
BDS allows the firm, and its clients, to easily
send and receive data using 128-bit encryption,
all from a simple Web-based interface.
They don’t need to be concerned with whether or not clients are already using the service since delivery recipients can self register,
at no cost, once they receive the files from their attorney. Clients also do not need to upload any software on to their PCs; they just click a link within a regular email and are sent to the registration interface to register and download their documents.
The firm and their clients no longer need to use a courier to send sensitive information. This is a costs savings to the firm, as well as their customers. It is also a time savings, since time is no longer spent compiling packages
and waiting for delivery, and attorneys can also important documents delivered instantly
while they work on a client’s case.
