Biscom Emerges as Winner of Prestigious Network Computing Well-Connected Award

FAXCOM 7000 enterprise fax server earns best-of-breed distinction

Chelmsford, MA (May 19, 2000) - Biscom today announced that its FAXCOM 7000 fax server has been named the winner of the Network Computing Well-Connected Award for the year 2000 in the category of Network Fax Servers. The FAXCOM 7000 fax server was selected on the basis of real-world lab tests for its ease of use by end user and system manager, expandability, and functionality to win the Well-Connected Award. The FAXCOM 7000 fax server bested the two other finalists, Rightfax by AVT and Faxpress from Castelle.

"We are particularly satisfied with this award because it demonstrates the superiority of our servers in the arena that matters most-one where product evaluations are determined by actual usage tests," says Chris Mackenzie, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Biscom. "We are glad the media is recognizing what our customers have always known, that FAXCOM servers offer superior performance, functionality, and reliability."

Biscom's FAXCOM 7000 fax server simultaneously supports multiple networks, operating systems and applications such as Windows 2000/NT, Lotus Domino, MS Exchange/Outlook, SMTP, AS/400, ERP systems, Novell NetWare, GroupWise, NDS, and IBM Mainframes. FAXCOM servers add fax capabilities to both desktop and host-based applications simultaneously, streamlining workflow by incorporating fax into the communications infrastructure of large enterprises. According to Ron Anderson, Messaging and Collaborative Applications Editor for Network Computing, "Biscom's FAXCOM 7000, a turnkey solution, covers all the bases."

"The Well-Connected Awards are significantly different from other IT publications' awards," said Fritz Nelson, Publisher of CMP's Network Computing. "Our editors worked at length to research and test the best offerings in the enterprise arena." According to Nelson, the products singled out in the Network Computing Well-Connected Awards are unique because "they are not a measure of popularity-they are quality offerings tested over a networked enterprise firsthand by editors themselves. So we know that the FAXCOM 7000 by Biscom is truly an innovative solution."

Tight integration with multiple environments and applications is achieved through the open-systems architecture of FAXCOM fax servers combined with a mature API, streamlining workflow by integrating fax with off-the-shelf and in-house business applications. Whether an organization is considering an enterprise-wide unified messaging solution or large-scale integration with multi-functional network devices, Biscom's FAXCOM 7000 fax servers are designed to meet the needs of existing and future environments of large corporations. The winners of the Network Computing Well-Connected Awards were announced at a gala event on Monday, May 8th held at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, NV. All winners are highlighted in the May 15th issue of Network Computing and also on Network Computing Online at http://networkcomputing.com.
