Biscom Ships Web Client for FAXCOM Fax Servers

Customers enjoy new browser-based fax interface, which offers secure transmission and access to faxes from any workstation connected to the Internet.

New York, NY (June 27, 2000) - At the PCExpo Show in New York today, Biscom, world leaders in enterprise fax management, announced shipments of the new Web client for their FAXCOM fax servers. Customers who have purchased the Web client are already realizing the benefits of integrating the safety of fax communications with the ease-of-use of the Internet.

This new Web client offers reduced administrative costs, requires no additional user training and provides a true plug-and-play enterprise fax management solution. "The new Web client demonstrates Biscom's enhanced concentration on integrating the Internet and FAXCOM servers as a vital business communication solution," states Don Dunning, Biscom's General Manager, who was promoted this month to President of Biscom. "Customers purchased the Web client with easy access in mind and will also benefit from the fact that fax attachments cannot carry viruses, worms, or embedded code. When there is a new viral pandemic every month, this form of communication is increasingly important to business continuity. This initiative was started, and now realized, by S.K. Ho, our founder and CEO. We are all very pleased to be delivering the technology to make this possible."

"With the FAXCOM Web Client, mobile workers can access their faxes from different workstations, from home, or from their laptop in the field," explains Chris MacKenzie, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Biscom, "and they need no additional user administration."

Biscom's new Web client works in conjunction with the robust FAXCOM fax server, providing users with a browser-based interface from which to send, receive and monitor their faxes, accessible via corporate intranet or the Internet. Moreover, because this interface is a Web version of Biscom's FAXCOM Manager interface, no additional user training is required for users currently using the FAXCOM solution. And, as a browser-based product, the Web Client has the additional advantage of being platform independent, enabling you to extend fax capabilities not only to Windows users, but also to UNIX and Macintosh users.

A complete FAXCOM solution, including all fax software, a 2-port FAXCOM 3000 NT fax server, and the new Web client interface with a 100-user license is available for $9,995.00.
