Biscom Introduces FAXCOM® for Exchange 2000
FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 is a Versatile Fax and Messaging Server with Superior
Integration and Manageability
CHELMSFORD, MA (June 12, 2001) - Biscom, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise fax management
solutions, today introduced FAXCOM for Exchange 2000. The new product includes tighter integration
for users and administrators with Outlook and Exchange 2000, centralized management, improved scalability
and an improved document conversion server. Enhancements enable users to extend their Exchange 2000
messaging capabilities.
"FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 provides tight integration of fax capabilities with Microsoft Exchange
2000," said Chris MacKenzie, vice president of marketing and business development at Biscom. "FAXCOM
for Exchange 2000 complements our recently released FAXCOM Server 5.0 and serves as an integral
part of our suite of document delivery solutions."
The new product extends the messaging capabilities of Exchange 2000 by unifying the fax and email
interface for Microsoft Outlook users. FAXCOM for Exchange 2000's tight integration with Exchange
2000 enables network administrators to centrally manage fax users and the fax service as they manage
any other component of the network via Microsoft's Active Directory.
With its improved document conversion server, FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 permits users to fax documents
created in the most popular desktop applications, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, by simply
attaching them to an outgoing message.
Provided with FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 is the option to install a printer driver that enables users
to fax from any Windows application and a FAXCOM viewer for viewing received faxes. Users can also
choose to view their received faxes with any TIFF viewer, including the Imaging Viewer that comes
standard with Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.
The new product can increase the efficiency of a company's workflow strategy, whether that process
involves such tasks as receiving a faxed purchase order and forwarding it to other parties or booking
and storing faxed reservation requests. Its tight integration with Exchange 2000 enables the procedures
for handling received faxes to become a component of the workflow strategy. In addition to routing
inbound faxes to individual users and printers, administrators can specify that FAXCOM for Exchange
2000 deliver received faxes to Public Folders/Distribution lists.
FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 provides support for all remote users. Whether users are in satellite
offices or on the road, FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 enables them to easily send and receive faxes.
The new product also provides support for Mixed Mode, which adds full network support for Exchange
5.5 and Exchange 2000.
FAXCOM for Exchange 2000 is available immediately.
