8.1.5 AT NETWORLD + INTEROP SPRING 2002
LAS VEGAS, NV, (May 7, 2002) - At the Networld
+ Interop Spring 2002 show today, Biscom, a leading
provider of enterprise fax management solutions, introduces
version 8.1.5 of its proven FAXCOM for Windows fax software
solution. FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 offers users additional
workflow functionality and improved fax management and
viewing capabilities.
"Biscom works to stay ahead of the curve with
cutting edge products and services," says S.K.
Ho, founder and CEO of Biscom. "The release of
FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 serves as a testament to Biscom's
dedication to deliver the latest technologies to our
customers."
FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 includes enhanced workflow
functionalities such as Job Tracking and an enhanced
Shared Mailbox function. Job Tracking is a software
module that monitors whether faxes reach their intended
destinations, alerting system administrators by fax,
email, printer, pager and/or cell phone if they don't.
Job Tracking also stores fax activity in a database,
creating an archive that makes it easy for administrators
to monitor fax traffic. With the enhances Shared Mailbox
function, FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 users on the same
network can simultaneously access the same received
fax folder, allowing quicker processing of inbound fax
documents such as purchase orders or prescriptions.
Another new feature included in FAXCOM for Windows
8.1.5 is Least Cost Routing (LCR) functionality, which
had been added to the gateway, providing for improved
communication with an installed base of FAXCOM Servers.
LCR enables a TCP/IP-based data network to route a fax
to a remote FAXCOM Server in another country for instance,
an enables users to eliminate the costs incurred when
delivering faxes via long distance and international
calls.
FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 also has improved viewing
capabilities, including the enhanced Get Next Unread
Fax function, which enables users to view additional
unread faxes without having to exit the FAXCOM Viewer.
Another enhanced feature allows users to open multiple
faxes in a single instance of FAXCOM Viewer. In addition,
FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 has split screen capability,
which enables users to work directly between the fax
viewer, and, for example, an order entry system, without
switching back and forth between the two.
FAXCOM for Windows 8.1.5 is currently shipping and
a special upgrade program is available for current FAXCOM
customers.
