BISCOM INTRODUCES NEW SPAM FAX FILTER AT NETWORLD + INTEROP SPRING 2002

LAS VEGAS, NV, (May 7, 2002) - At the Networld + Interop Spring 2002 show today, Biscom, a leading provider of enterprise fax management solutions, introduced FAXCOM Server 5.3. The new release includes a SPAM Fax Filter and a batching feature for improving workflow and fax management capabilities. FAXCOM Server 5.3 is available immediately.

"The enhancements included in the FAXCOM Server 5.3 give our customers improved ways for managing both inbound and outbound fax traffic," says S.K. Ho, founder and CEO of Biscom. "FAXCOM Server 5.3 supports 96 fax ports, making it more robust than our previous versions, while the new SPAM Fax Filter will allow customers to avoid endless streams of unwanted faxes, and focus on their mission critical business documents."

FAXCOM Server 5.3 includes a SPAM Fax Filter, which monitors incoming fax traffic, and either eliminates SPAM traffic or quarantines it in a dedicated folder. Biscom's SPAM Fax Filter watches for the Transmitting Subscriber ID (TSI) of each fax. If it recognizes the TSI that has been placed on the SPAM list by the user, or receives a fax that doesn't have a TSI, the SPAM Fax Filter can either reject the fax by hanging up the line or "quarantine" the SPAM in a separate folder.

Also included in FAXCOM Server 5.3 is a powerful fax batching mechanism. Fax batching allows users to send multiple faxes to the same telephone number in one call. For instance, if a mortgage company is constantly sending faxes to a certain bank, the batching feature in FAXCOM Server 5.3 will enable them to send multiple faxes in one call instead of repeatedly dialing the same number and getting a bust signal.

The new product is available either as a turnkey system or as customer-installable software, so that users may choose the options that best fits their needs. Customers can choose: a pre-installed, pre-configured, fully tested system which Biscom creates on hardware either provided by Biscom or by the customer; alternately, the customer can configure a customer-installed system, with the FAXCOM Server software obtained from Biscom, and the fax boards either provided by the customer or obtained from Biscom. The new server also includes support for Brooktrout TR-1034 fax boards as well as TR-114.

Additionally, FAXCOM Server 5.3 offers a variety of telephony integration options, including Ti, PRI, ISDN, E1, BRI digital lines, loop start and/or Direct Inward Dial (DID) analog lines. The new server also makes it easy to switch between T1 and PRI modes without reinstalling. Should the customer choose a T1 line, Biscom will conduct T1 pre-installation consulting with the customer and their phone carrier to ensure the T1 line is properly configured to work with the FAXCOM Server.

FAXCOM Server 5.3 is currently shipping and a special upgrade program is available to current FAXCOM customers.
