FAXCOM API Toolkits - Now Include New Java API

Interface Directly to the FAXCOM Server or to a Fax Gateway

Chelmsford, MA (July 24, 2003) Biscom a leading Enterprise Fax Management provider, is pleased to announce the release of its newest Application Programming Interface (API), the Java API. Biscom's APIs enable developers to integrate diverse applications with automated fax and email delivery and management.

Biscom offers a range of solutions for interfacing with its FAXCOM server. Whether the need is simply to send a fax - without any programming interface - or to implement complex production fax applications that control the FAXCOM Server, there is a ready-to-use interface. These solutions have been used successfully by scores of developers and VARs to implement fax functionality for desktop faxing, automated production faxing and customized messaging/workflow applications.

The Java API enables developers to interface their Java applications to the fax service gateway. Biscom's Java API works with any Java Virtual Machine (JVM) running on any platform. Other FAXCOM API Toolkits include: COM API for Virtual Basic, C/C++, and other COM object language integration; Envelope Specification, a simple file interface; and FAXCOM Command Language (FCL), a comprehensive set of ASCII commands that can be imbedded into any file for direct communication with the FAXCOM Server.

“"Utilizing these toolkits enables our strategic partners to provide enhanced document workflow systems," explained Neal McCann, VP of Channel Relationships. "And our clients have the ability to easily tie into their ERP and production fax systems, either with their own developers, or with custom consulting help from Biscom."

“"As a Biscom Partner since 1988, we've used several of the company's API Toolkits to integrate the delivery of fax and email documents with our electronic information delivery software," explained Ben Bruno, President of STR Software. "The Toolkits provided for easy integration between the two companies' technologies, allowing for us to provide our clients with enhanced fax-enabled information delivery system."

Other partners who have integrated solutions with Biscom's API Toolkits include: multifunctional peripheral providers eCopy, HP and Xerox for scan-to-fax functionality; healthcare solutions providers McKesson, Siemens Medical and Misys for medical records workflow automation; and Microsoft, Lotus and Novell for fax-to-email integration.
