Biscom Receives SEWP Certification

FAXCOM Listed on Approved Government IT Product List

Chelmsford, MA (August 27, 2003) Biscom, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise fax management solutions, is pleased to announce the approval of its FAXCOM product line to the NASA Scientific & Engineering Workstation Procurement III (SEWP) government contract list. The addition opens up another approved avenue for Biscom to do business directly with the federal government.

SEWP is a Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) that consists of twenty-two contracts, including eleven small business contracts offering a vast selection and wide range of advanced technology including UNIX, Linux and Windows-based workstations and servers along with peripherals, network equipment, storage devices and other IT products to all Federal Agencies (including the Department of Defense) and their authorized contractors.

The addition of the FAXCOM offerings to the SEWP contract list to make it easier for government employees and subcontractors to locate and purchase mission critical IT products and services. This placement also enables access to this approved list to all other government agencies as well.

"Biscom has enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship with many agencies and suppliers of the federal government for many years," stated Jim Lincoln, Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing for Biscom. "We appreciate SEWP's assistance with this approval. It'll be beneficial to both Biscom and its government sector clients as we move forward with our vertical marketing focus in the near future."

Biscom's FAXCOM Servers are used by federal agencies throughout various government branches including: the Senate, the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Justice, US Department of Treasury, Pentagon AFPCA and Department of Commerce.

Through SEWP, agencies can search the Web, finding an exact fit for their IT requirements at the best price (generally below GSA schedule prices), with the lowest surcharge (0.6%), via the easiest and fastest ordering procedure. Solutions are offered directly by leading hardware and software manufacturers and experienced government integrators. SEWP Vendor contracts were awarded through a full and open competition.

Benefits realized through the implementation of a FAXCOM Solution include: remote access to documents; the convenience and enhanced productivity of desktop faxing including the routing of incoming faxes directly to the recipient, and automatic redialing for outbound faxes; and quick return on investment due to the elimination of the required supplies of paper and toner for fax machines. Plus fax servers are much more reliable and cost effective than traditional fax machines and off-site fax services.
