FAXCOM Server Supports Fax Over IP

Chelmsford, MA (November 1, 2004) - Biscom Inc., a leading provider of enterprise document delivery solutions, today announced that its FAXCOM Server software supports real-time fax communications over IP. The FAXCOM Server application supports the T.38 protocol that enables Fax Over IP. Using the T.38 protocol, faxes are sent and received in “real-time” over an IP network.

The over 100 million fax machines worldwide communicate over the PSTN using the T.30 protocol for fax communications. As organizations consolidate voice and data traffic onto their own IP networks, demand for Fax Over IP has increased.

The FAXCOM Server application is the central component of Biscom's FAXCOM product line. FAXCOM solutions support document delivery via fax, email and Internet, managing document workflow to process documents as they move into and out of the enterprise.

The FAXCOM solution is tightly integrated with Microsoft Windows, Exchange, Office and Outlook, and can be administered via an MMC. FAXCOM users can be managed through Active Directory and Group Policy, providing a shared fax solution that can scale from a small office to a multinational enterprise.

Since 1986, Biscom has been widely recognized for its pioneering advances in enterprise fax management and secure document delivery technologies.
