Biscom Launches vVault Enterprise
New Product lets Enterprises Manage and Maintain their
Users' Data
Chelmsford, MA (September 3, 2004) - Biscom,
Inc. today announced the release of vVault Enterprise,
an enterprise-class platform for email, fax and document
management. This new release lets enterprises deploy
their own implementations of vVault’s award-winning
software on their existing networks. This gives them
unprecedented control over how their employees access
their essential files from anywhere around the world.
vVault Enterprise provides organizations with an information
repository where their users can securely store documents
online or act as a secure tunnel to remote file systems
within a network for viewing and retrieval. Customers
can access their documents from virtually anywhere
via any web browser, wireless PDAs, RIM pagers and
WAP-enabled cellular phones. Once accessed, documents
can be delivered to a local fax machine or email address,
for immediate use. vVault Enterprise also enables users
or workgroups to share stored information, restrict
access to certain data if so desired and easily publish
documents to a Web site without the use of HTML or
other programming language.
vVault Enterprise allows organizations to provide their
users with the same powerful features offered by Biscom’s
existing vVault service. The main difference is that
now the vVault platform can be implemented on an enterprise’s
existing network instead of being outsourced. The advantages
of this turnkey solution include greater control over
security, user privileges, specific feature sets and
in-house data management. vVault Enterprise can be
incorporated into any portal or business application
in order to provide robust file and message access
for employees when they are out of the office, as well
as providing external companies and individuals with
secure access to files without giving them access to
an enterprise’s corporate network.
“vVault Enterprise makes the vVault solution available
to a wide variety of organizations that needed this
functionality but had restrictions on allowing corporate
files to reside outside their network” vVault President
Bill Ho says. “Now these organizations can deploy their
own vVault implementations, integrate it with their
existing systems, and maintain total control over how
the system works and who gets access. Now there’s no
reason why anyone should be cut off from the data they
need - no matter where they are.”
