Chelmsford, MA – March 1, 2005 –Biscom (www.biscom.com), a leading provider of enterprise document delivery solutions, today announced that Panther Creek Medical Center of the Woodlands, TX will use Biscom's FAXCOM Clinical Version (CV) to automate fulfillment of prescription requests from within GE Centricity 5.6.
Biscom's FAXCOM CV fax software solution integrates tightly with GE Healthcare's Centricity EMR solution. One common application of this integration is to automatically fax, from within Centricity EMR, new and renewal prescription requests to pharmacies.
The physician and nursing staffs at Panther Creek use FAXCOM CV to fax prescription requests directly to pharmacies instead of printing them out and then faxing them. The medical records staff also uses FAXCOM CV to fax medical records to other physicians offices and to insurance companies.
"Before we moved to Centricity 5.6, doctors and nurses complained that faxing a prescription took too many steps," says Jenni Patteson, IT Administrator at Panther Creek, "Now they do it in two clicks - and they love it!" Panther Creek reports that FAXCOM CV enables them to deliver information faster and without paper fax machines - all at a lower cost.
