Streamline Inbound Fax Workflow with Hosted Fax Service

The Advanced Fax Routing module available with Biscom’s FAXCOM Anywhere Enterprise fax service provides an extensive set of features for processing and delivering received faxes. Advanced Fax Routing provides a rules engine for decision based fax routing. Decision criteria could include the Caller ID or TSID of the sender, the date & time, or even data extracted from the image by barcode recognition or OCR, among many other criteria. Faxes can be reformatted to a  Searchable PDF format, renamed, and delivered along with fax data, such as the sender and recipient, among many other options.

Advanced Fax Routing workflows make fax routing more efficient by eliminating manual steps and making intelligent fax routing decisions. A basic AFR workflow might require that faxes be sent to users during business hours, and to an FTP location after hours. An intermediate AFR workflow might require that the received TIFF image be converted to text by OCR, a company name be retrieved from the OCR results, and then for a database lookup of the company name to determine the routing destination. Advanced AFR workflows often include barcode recognition or OCR, network lookups for additional data based on barcode or OCR results, and reformatting of the fax prior to delivery.
