Workflow Analysis – Free Consultation!

Biscom’s Advanced Fax Routing (AFR) and Image Indexing applications enable customers to include fax processing in their business workflows. Using these tools, customers can implement simple-to-highly complex document workflows that dramatically improve business efficiency.

A Biscom financial services customer, for example, receives mortgage applications via fax and initiates the approval process; a health care customer receives MRI and other scheduling requests via fax and begins the scheduling process; a manufacturing customer receives custom product orders via fax and triggers the fulfillment process.

Image Indexing administrators create and manage workflows through the FAXCOM Suite for Windows Microsoft Management Console (MMC), and workflow participants use the Image Indexing Client to perform such role-specific actions as reviewing the fax, entering retrieved data, annotating the fax, splitting it into separate documents, and stapling multiple documents into one. Workflows can consist both of user-initiated actions as well as robotic actions – actions that occur automatically in response to a user-initiated action, such as routing the fax and exporting it into a document management application when processing is complete.

Advanced Fax Routing is a rules-based utility for specifying actions that automatically route incoming faxes. It is an option to the FAXCOM Suite for Windows application, and is administered through the Suite MMC. AFR supports OCR and barcode recognition, which enables fax routing decisions to be made based on the content of the fax (TIFF) image. AFR can do LDAP and ODBC lookups to retrieve data that determines how to continue acting on a fax. AFR rules can also automatically deliver faxes to printers, email addresses, ODBC databases, and UNC locations.

A critical first step in evaluating Advanced Fax Routing and Image Indexing is working with Biscom on a needs assessment of your current workflow. Our Professional Services team works with you to understand your business requirements, to define your current processes, and to recommend a more efficient solution. We offer an initial consultation and analysis at no charge.
