Improving Hospital Workflows for Scheduling and Medical Records

Biscom’s Image Indexing solution has been deployed in many hospitals to improve critical healthcare workflows such as receiving physician’s orders, scheduling appointments, and storing medical records in a searchable database. Hospitals use Image Indexing to capture and store information from received faxes, scanned paper documents, email, and other electronic files. Biscom works with hospitals and clients in other industries to perform a needs-assessment of current processes, and to propose new multi-role workflows that are more efficient and reliable. Fax Broadcasting Services with FAXCOM Anywhere

Biscom’s FAXCOM Server and FAXCOM Anywhere solutions offer customers an extensive feature set for sending, receiving, and tracking faxes – with the flexibility to deploy fax as a premise software solution or in a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. Many of our customers begin with the FAXCOM Anywhere service and transition to the FAXCOM Server product line, or use both together. With both solutions in place, customers can utilize FAXCOM Server as their enterprise fax solution, and fall back to FAXCOM Anywhere for fault tolerance and peak load requirements.  For example, for a customer requiring periodic fax broadcasts to large recipient lists, it can be advantageous to offload this throughput to FAXCOM Anywhere, and not require as many fax boards and phone lines implemented with their premise FAXCOM Server solution.

Archived Presentation: Virtualized Fax Deployment Integrated with VoIP

Biscom’s FAXCOM Fax Server solution can be implemented in a virtual environment without any hardware at all by integrating fax with your Voice over IP network. Fax over IP, using the T.38 protocol, leverages the VoIP architecture to fax enable users and applications without requiring fax boards. VoIP gateways become off-ramps to the phone network for sending and receiving faxes. For companies that have not yet implemented VoIP, Biscom offers IP media gateways that connect to the phone network and provide a bridge to an eventual VoIP implementation.
