BISCOM Announces Support for Host-Based Fax Over IP

Chelmsford, MA, April 10, 2007 -
Biscom Inc., a leading provider of enterprise fax and secure document delivery solutions, has announced support for host-based fax over IP. Biscom's market-leading enterprise fax server solution, FAXCOM Server, has certified integration with Cantata Technology's Brooktrout SR140 Host Based Fax Over IP processing software.

The FAXCOM Server application supports the T.38 protocol that enables Fax Over IP. Using the T.38 protocol, faxes are sent and received in "real-time" over an IP network. Integrating the FAXCOM Server software with Cantata's Brooktrout SR140 software implements T.38 Fax Over IP in a software solution, eliminating the need for a fax board.

"Since we first introduced T.38 support in 2004, we have seen a steady increase in Fax Over IP interest from our customers," said Brian Kilduff, Vice President of Sales for Biscom. "FAXCOM Server with the Brooktrout SR140 makes T.38 implementation even easier by moving Fax Over IP to an entirely software solution."

The FAXCOM Server provides enterprises of all sizes with a central resource for managing fax traffic. Users easily send, receive, and track faxes through email, Web, and desktop interfaces. Integrations with popular applications such as Microsoft SharePoint and Oracle E-Business Suite, and rich APIs that provide access to inbound and outbound fax capabilities, extend the benefits of the FAXCOM solution.

The Brooktrout SR140 supports real-time IP fax, providing organizations with the ability to integrate fax servers and fax document management solutions with their VoIP network. "As the proven market share leader in intelligent fax technology for more than a decade, Cantata continues to drive the future of Fax over IP by working closely with leading enterprise fax companies like Biscom to ensure a seamless migration path for fax on IP networks," said Peter Vescuso, Vice President of Marketing for Cantata Technology.
