Chelmsford, MA - February 21, 2008 – Biscom today announced new features available in an upcoming release of its FAXCOM CV (Clinical Version) and CV Plus software applications. The FAXCOM CV and CV Plus products provide fax capabilities to healthcare providers using the GE Centricity® EMR solution.
Centricity EMR is an electronic medical record system that enables physicians and clinical staff to document patient encounters, streamline clinical workflow, and securely exchange clinical data with other providers, patients, and information systems. FAXCOM CV and CV Plus enable EMR users to send faxes from within patient records, including prescriptions, referral letters, and other documents.
New features in this release include the capability of importing fax completion statuses into the specific patients’ chart, the capability of including the rendered fax image with the fax status report, the capability of sending flags on failed faxes to the original sender or an assigned administrator, and allowing different configurations for different locations of care.
“These are features that have been asked for by our CV and CV Plus customers,” said Neal McCann, VP Strategic Partnerships for Biscom Inc. “EMR users need to have fax statuses and fax images readily available in patient records for ease of use and for compliance.”
Biscom has partnered with GE Healthcare since 2004 in offering integrated inbound and outbound fax capabilities to EMR users. The new release will be available March 31.
