Chelmsford, MA - February 20, 2008 – Biscom today announced the launch of a new product suite for secure delivery of High Resolution (HD) color documents. The new product suite combines Biscom’s HD-IPFax and BDS applications to provide Internet-based Push and Pull document delivery.
HD-IPFax is a new product from Biscom that Pushes scanned documents, as well as various PC-generated files – including video with audio, PDF, and JPG – as a point-to-point IP network delivery to the recipient desktop.
“HD-IPFax is the next generation of fax technology,” said S.K. Ho, founder and CEO of Biscom. “Fax remains popular because it is secure and easy to use. We’re building on these benefits with HD-IPFax by eliminating the costs of the telephone network. This innovation is a progression from analog fax to HD-IPFax.”
Biscom’s BDS product line is a complementary application that provides secure document delivery for recipients who are not HD-IPFax users. The BDS server notifies recipients via email that a delivery is ready for download. The recipient clicks a link in the email message to complete a Pull delivery.
The HD-IPFax Kiosk is a version of the HD-IPFax product that integrates with twain-compatible MFP devices or scanners to enable centralized access for document delivery to HD-IPFax recipient desktops. As with the desktop version, if the recipient is not an HD-IPFax user, the Biscom Delivery Server sends an email notification, with a link to download the delivery, to the recipient. The HD-IPFax Kiosk also sends both faxes and email.
HD-IPFax is a patent-pending solution. An API toolkit for application integration is in development.
