Biscom Announces Enhancements to its Enterprise Fax for Microsoft SharePoint® Application
Chelmsford, MA – March 25, 2010 –Biscom (www.biscom.com), the leading provider of enterprise fax software and document delivery solutions and a Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner, announced today the latest enhancements to its FAXCOM for SharePoint® application. The enhanced functionality provides more efficient outbound routing of faxed documents, complementing FAXCOM’s inbound routing into SharePoint sites, complete with content filtering, metadata tags, and OCR, to make user searches easier. FAXCOM for SharePoint directly and intelligently integrates with SharePoint, eliminating the spam and risks associated with enabling SharePoint sites for email access while increasing productivity and security across the enterprise for all SharePoint users.
Biscom’s FAXCOM for SharePoint makes it easier for designers to add to document libraries (where FAXCOM for SharePoint receives faxes as searchable PDF, or, optionally, TIFF files) and customize the libraries fax capabilities. Biscom gives users, designers, and IT personnel the following:
- Fax option for specific document libraries within a site
- "Browse for Contacts” link to select list(s) of contact addresses
- "View Library Properties" link to display document library properties in order to add dynamic data to fields
- "Insert Reference" and "Open Book" buttons to display a list of available document library or workflow properties; click “Insert” to put a selected property in its field
- New user-friendly documentation showing SharePoint users how to send a fax with FAXCOM for SharePoint
- Enhanced log views make it easier for users to see the log file view of fax records and to filter sent and received faxes.
In addition, Biscom integration advances will always available to any enterprise using “cloud-based” faxing and hosting. This extends access control for whoever writes the rules-based management protocol to define document libraries that support outbound faxing and the options available to senders: Customizing fax cover page content; accessing SharePoint contact lists; and, permitting senders to specify recipients not listed on contact lists.
