How it Works

Biscom IP FAX is a revolutionary new cloud-based communications solution that breaks through the speed and resolution limitations inherent in traditional fax.

Internal 1
Biscom IP FAX transmissions are initiated by a user or an application specifying the documents and images to be sent, optionally supplying metadata, and entering one or more Biscom IP FAX recipient addresses. There are multiple methods for selecting the documents to be transmitted, including drag-and-drop, attaching files, or using the Biscom IP FAX printer driver within an application.
Internal 2
For a transmission that starts within an enterprise, Biscom IP FAX transmissions are routed to the Biscom Queue, where they can be managed, tracked, and queued for transmission. The Biscom Queue is a software service that can run on any system or virtual machine, and functions as the nerve center for routing and managing Biscom IP FAX communications among enterprise users and applications.

The Biscom Queue communicates with one or more Biscom IP FAX Switches, which initiate a real-time secure data link to the remote device associated with each recipient's Biscom IP FAX address. The role of the Biscom IP FAX Switch is to establish presence and verify credentials of both the sender and receiver, in addition to tracking the length of calls and the amount of data transmitted. No user data is stored within the Biscom IP FAX Switch.
