Security & Compliance
With over 20 years experience providing secure document delivery solutions, we understand the importance and challenges of managing and ensuring data protection while meeting regulatory compliance. Below are some of the security precautions we take to keep your fax communications private and secure:
- Biscom uses 128 bit SSL encryption, the same level of encryption used by online banking and financial institutions, to protect all inbound and outbound communications.
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protection encrypts the message from end-to-end, ensuring the message is encrypted even before the fax is sent from your location.
- We use the latest and highest grade firewall protection and intrusion detection and proprietary security systems to protect your data.
- Our servers are housed in the U.S. in secure, Tier IV, world-class Verizon data centers —the highest level of security available.
- Biscom provides maximum redundancy and auditing capabilities to help comply with stringent government regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
How it Works
The reason that our cloud-based service can match the functionality and application integration of our customer-based servers is the Biscom architecture and the Queue, which controls every Biscom fax solution – regardless of where the servers are located – and implements all these capabilities:
- Access to real-time logs for status of sent/received/pending faxes
- Receiving faxes as either TIFF or PDF files
- AD integration lookups for routing incoming faxes
- Multiple client support – GroupWise, Lotus Notes, Exchange, Web-based
- Advanced fax routing, whereby faxes can be automatically routed, printed, emailed, split into multiple pages, and quarantined as spam, according to DID, date and time received, Caller ID, TSID, etc.
- Automatic routing of incoming faxes according to barcode content extracted by Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
- Fax processing workflows, where users are assigned to different roles (such as Screener, Scheduler, Supervisor), and the fax automatically progresses from role to role until processing is completed
- Routing to SharePoint Document Libraries
