Virtual Fax Server
Virtualize your fax environment and reduce software and hardware costs
- Increased server utilization
- Reduced software and hardware costs
- Smaller data center footprint with no reduction in scalability
Virtual fax servers are quickly becoming the standard platform of choice, as corporations are making the shift from physical servers and locally-installed client applications to such virtualization technologies as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, XEN, and Citrix. Implementing the FAXCOM® Server and FAXCOM Suite for Windows application in a virtualization environment enables customers to lower capital and operational costs.
Benefits of Fax Virtualization
Virtualizing fax servers enables better management of fax server resources. Virtualizing the servers also makes it possible to run workstations and servers with different operating systems on the same fax server(s) concurrently. In this way, virtual servers enable users to do more with less. Fewer fax servers are needed to get the same fax capacity, saving money on hardware. Switching to a virtual fax server solution can reduce operating costs while still maintaining high-volume fax service.
Virtual Fax Implementation
FAXCOM fax server solutions can be implemented in a virtualization environment by using the Dialogic Brooktout SR140 software. The SR140 software enables a seamless integration with Cisco, Avaya, Nortel, Quitum, and Dialogic Voice Over IP networks and media gateways.
The FAXCOM Suite for Windows application can also be installed and rapidly deployed in a virtual farm in order to provide high availability and redundancy. For example, the virtualization software can be configured automatically to relocate the FAXCOM Suite server from one host to another.
Applications can be deployed rapidly to users by implementing such virtualized clients as Citrix, Microsoft App-V (SoftGrid), and VMware ThinApp. Desktop support-related cost can be reduced by implementing virtual desktop solutions that provide standard configurations and fax client version control. Virtualized desktops combined with FAXCOM Suite Group Policy integration enables administrators to control 100% of the users' faxing environment.

"Thanks to Biscom, we no longer have problems with system flow or performance. Inbound orders received via fax or via online ordering are indexed and the application creates the workflow according to programmed business rules. It makes the jobs of our staff members and managers much easier."
