A Workflow-Optimized Fax Client
Click on image to view details |
The FAXCOM Client is a desktop application that enables users
to send, receive and track faxes. The FAXCOM Client has a folder-based
UI with Pending, Sent, Received and Activity folders. The FAXCOM
Client includes public and private phone books, delivery scheduling,
cover page selection and priority assignment.
Users access the easy-to-use Send Fax
dialogue from the FAXCOM Client toolbar, or they can choose
the Biscom Fax Printer to "print" any
Windows application document as a fax. Windows users are transferred
to the Send Fax dialogue with the document they were editing
attached as a TIFF file. Users can then click the Add to List
button to be returned to the application from which they called
the Biscom Fax Printer, or they can open a file in another
application, enabling them to build one composite fax with
multiple attachments.
The FAXCOM Client offers advanced functionality useful in
integrating fax with workflow applications. The Shared Mailbox
feature can be an important component of a company's workflow
implementation. The Shared Mailbox enables multiple users to
have access to the received faxes in a single mailbox. The
Get Next Unread Fax feature in the FAXCOM Client and in the
FAXCOM Viewer ensures that faxes are processed in the order
in which they arrived.
Directory Services Integration
The FAXCOM Client is a component of the FAXCOM Suite for Windows
application. FAXCOM Suite for Windows works with any LDAP-compatible
directory service - without requiring any extensions to your
schema - including Active Directory, Exchange 5.5, Domino,
Netscape, and NDS. Users can optionally be managed through
Active Directory Group Policy.
MMC Snap-In
Administrators can use the familiar Microsoft administration
tool to configure all aspects of the fax queues that contain
FAXCOM Client users.
