This week the Wall Street Journal reported that financial firms are rapidly upping investments in cybersecurity measures in response to the ongoing threat of data security hacks that have plagued high profile companies such as J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. The article cited a statistic from the 2014 Verizon Data Breach Investigation Report which showed that financial firms accounted for over one-third of all of the data breaches in 2013 and three times the number of breaches found in the public sector.
As financial organizations focus on cybersecurity in 2015 one of the areas that will surely need to be addressed is secure document delivery. As one of the common ways that data can leak out, companies will need to take a hard look at document delivery and sharing practices in the workplace and whether or not unsecured faxing and file sharing has left a hole in their defenses.
In our recent webinar “Secure Fax & Document Delivery for the Enterprise” Biscom President Bill Ho discussed enterprise security concerns with industry analyst Mark Malone. If you missed the webinar you can access the recording on our website.
